The GMIT Swift Cams are now live. 5 Swifts returned on the 7 May and on the night of 8 May there were 2 pairs and 3 single birds in 5 nest boxes. Happy viewing!
Lynda Huxley will give a talk on Swifts at the official launch of the West Waterford Eco Group on Friday 10 May at 7.30pm in the Park Hotel. All are welcome. This will be followed up by survey workshop/training on Saturday 11 May. You can find the West Waterford Eco Group on facebook.

Nest boxes installed on Ballycroy National Park Visitor’s Centre. Thanks to NPWS for their support. This will be a longterm project to see if we can draw swifts back to the Barony of Erris. Major Robin Ruttledge did record them in the Barony in the early 1930s. We’ll need patience!!
