Heritage Week talks on Swifts by Lynda Huxley of SCI – 17, 18 and 22nd August

On Tuesday 17th August at 7pm is an on-line talk about Swift Nest Boxes and Making your place Swift Friendly – a collaboration between SCI and Longford Heritage Office. You can sign-up via Event Brite and the link is on the Heritage Week website. Or you can email mnichonghaile@longfordcoco.ie

On Wednesday 18th August from 8.30pm to 9.30pm is an on-site event at Castlebar Leisure Centre in Co. Mayo. You will hear about this project which has 24 built-in nest boxes and get to experience the resident swifts going into their nest sites for the night. Booking is essential as it is weather dependent and numbers are restricted to 15. You can book your place by emailing swiftconservationireland@gmail.com

On Sunday 22nd August at 5pm is an on-line talk on Swift Conservation at Schools in Mayo. This talk features the Heritage Council funded project with Woodstone Swift Nest Box Deep boxes have been obtained for installation in new buildings at schools in Co. Mayo.
